WSJ reports Yahoo board has approved a $1.1 billion deal — in cash — to purchase Tumblr. 

There it is.

People keep saying “calm down”, “what’s all the fuss about” but they don’t realise that yahoo are trying to find their way out of a bad spell, and tumblr is a website with millions of users which isn’t using its advertising potential. I don’t doubt for a minute that we’ll be subject to adverts on our dashboard, and yahoo trying to integrate other social features. Plus it sounds like they expect tumblr to be all ‘hipster’ orientated. I hope I’m wrong.
